TEST fn3

Test – Electricity -FN3

Name: ____________________________________Date:_________________Group_______

1- Listen to the video and mention 3 renewable and 2 non-renewable energy sources - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEeH4EniM3E

A - Non-renewable:
B - Renewable:

2- ENERGY

Energy exists in many different forms. Examples of these are: light energy, heat energy, mechanical energy, gravitational energy, electrical energy, sound energy, chemical energy, etc.. These forms of energy can be transferred and transformed between one another. This is of immense benefit to us. For a source of energy to end up as electricity it may undergo many transformations before it can power the light bulb in your home.
The two major forms are Kinetic Energy and Potential Energy.
  • Kinetic energy is the energy in moving objects.
  • Potential energy is any form of energy that has stored potential that can be put to future use. For example, water stored in a dam for hydroelectricity generation is a form of potential energy.

2a- Read the text and answer the questions

1- Mention different types of energy.
2- What is potential energy?
3- What is Kinetic energy?

2b – Complete: potential energy / kinetic energy
     -   A moving object's energy is____________
     -   If an object is not moving it has _____________

3- Match:

1 - Definition of energy A - Kinetic, portential and electric
2 - Types of energy B - Sun, water and wind
3 - Sources of energy C - The capacity of a system to do work

4- Use the following vocabulary to make a conceptual map

Potential – Kinetic – is moving – Gravitational – Thermal – Electrical – it is the energy in a current of electrons – energy released by temperature of objects – for example objects that can be in the space – it is energy in motion - it is stored energy – it is not moving
